Soft Psychedelic

Creating a soft psychedelic effect in PhotoPaint is easy without using the built in psychedelic filter effect.

Choose an image that you want to effect.

Go to Effects>Noise>Add Noise. The settings I used are shown below.

Below is the image after applying the settings above.

Go to Effects>Color Transform>Solarize and apply the settings shown below.

Below is the solarized image.

I want just a little more depth in the image so I'm going to apply the Wet Paint effect.

Go to Effects>Distort>Wet Paint and apply the settings shown below.

Below is my pastel-ly psychedelic image. You may think there is not much happening when you apply the Wet Paint filter and the changes are very subtle but enough to alter the image with just a bit more depth.

The same thing can be accomplished with a smoother finish by omitting the Add Noise step. Try playing with the sliders and settings in each effects dialog to get just the effect you are looking for. Have fun!
