Resizing Images for the Web We all have those photos that we like to on the web to share with our friends. Or, we have some terrific images we've created. Images for the web need to be both small in file size and in physical dimensions so that our viewers don't have to scroll right to see the whole picture. In PhotoPaint we can adjust our huge images to fit the web quite easily. Go to Image>Resample
When the Resample dialog first opens you'll see the current image dimensions along with it's vertical and horizontal resolution. The only thing we need concern ourselves with is the Image Size width and height. Because my web pages will only hold an image that is 585 pixels or less in width that's what I'll use. Make sure before you change any settings that you check the box next to Maintain aspect ratio or your image will get disproportionately sized. I usually leave Anti-alias checked also. Don't worry too much about the reports for Original Image Size (1,428,024) and the New Image Size (769,128) in the case below. Those are the sizes of the files while working on them. The image that I resized actually turned out to be 50k after it was saved.
Below is the image I resized. Pretty simple stuff once you know where to find it.
