Custom Lines Ever get tired of the same old lines? I do. In Paint Shop Pro it's very easy to create custom lines. Open a new blank image about 500 x 150. Choose the Pencil tool. In the Tool Options dialog select Single Line and click on the Custom button.
You can now create custom style lines in the Styled Lines dialog.
When you click on the arrow next to a cap image you will see something similar to below.
Choose one of the cap image for your first and last cap. Click on the box next to Different segment caps and then click on the arrows for the start and end segments. Again choose a style image for those. You can set the sizes for them also. See my settings below. By clicking the Add button you can add segments to the line. In the box next to Add Dash you can set the distance between each segment or you can drag the arrows above the added segments. You'll see a real time preview as you create your new line.
Click Save as New and name your new line. Once you've saved your line it will be added to the Tool Options dialog ready for you to use.
I set my line width to 4 for the line below. Just drag a line straight across the canvas.
I chose to add a couple of smaller lines above and below the large line. The line width of those was 1.
I then used the Magic Wand tool, click on the white part of the canvas. Go to Selections>Invert to select the lines. I added a texture to the lines and then inverted the selection again and added a texture to the background. That's all there is to creating cool custom lines in Paint Shop Pro. |
