Quick Light Source Creating light sources manually in Paint Shop Pro is quite simple. As you can see in the image below, I have several light sources. I'll add one more for this tutorial. Open an image you would like to add a light source to.
Create a new layer. Choose the Shapes tool and select the shape you would like the light to be. I chose a triangle shape. I have a light yellow chosen as the fill style. Draw the rectangle anywhere on the canvas. Using the Mover tool move it around until you have it where you want it. If it is the wrong size, use the Deformation tool to resize and/or rotate it.
In the layer palette, set the opacity to whatever setting is necessary to achieve the amount of light you want. Go to Effects>Blur>Gaussian Blur and apply a blur with a radius of about 10.00.
Below is the original image and under it, the image with the new light source. As you can see, the image appears to have a light source above the figure and they figure also appears to be altered by the light.
