Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional Adobe Acrobat (Reader and Writer) has been the standard for universal cross platform document sharing for years. Acrobat has always been a valuable tool and now it has gotten even better. One of the most noticeable and valuable improvements is a major increase in loading and displaying of PDF documents. Acrobat 7 Reader has also realized an increase in speed. During installation, which went quickly and easily, Adobe gives you the option of adding one click buttons for creating PDF files directly from other software on your system. Some are pre-defined by what the installer found on your system and others you can add manually by using a custom installation. The main user interface is easier to move around in and some tools are more accessible than in previous versions.
There is a cool feature for viewing a document in a several different ways. You can view in the normal view we're all accustomed t
With the New Window feature you can view more than one place in a document at the same time:
You can use the Split option to split the original document for viewing in two places:
Or then there is the Spreadsheet split:
Those are some powerful options to increase productivity. The new Organizer is a really cool feature:
that allows you to scroll through previews of the PDF files that you've viewed for the past 12 months even those that were opened in your browser from a web site. To get to the files you simple click on them and they show up in the preview window which has a zooming capability. The exception is for web based files which you have to double click on and they will open in a new web browser window. You can also build collections from the Organizer which is a collection of files all grouped together. You can open files from here as well as print, combine, or email directly from the organizer.
Speaking of browser windows, you'll find some new things there. There is a button that will allow you to convert the current web page you are viewing into a PDF, add the current web page to an existing PDF and more.
There is a new Forms Designer.
This is a very powerful tool. When you opt to create a form you can pick several options about how the form will be created. You can choose a form from a template or create one from scratch. You can decide on how the form will be filled out and how it will be returned. You can preview what your finished form will look like in the Designer. You can even create dynamic forms that change depending on user input! Acrobat 7.0 Professional allows for sending of PDF files for review. Users who receive the files need only Acrobat Reader 7.0 to be able to add comments to the file and return it where the comments can be combined. This allows for collaboration without all users having to own the writer which makes for broader collaboration capabilities. You can track and manage review cycles. Electronic signatures are supported for an approval process. You can start the review process either by email or browser. Reader 7.0 users can add notes, text edits, file attachments and stamps. Once users have added their comments they only have to click the Send Comments button. Once you receive the comments you can import them into the original PDF file. There is a facility for viewing, printing, sorting and summarizing the comments received from your collaborators. Acrobat 7.0 Professional has the ability to incorporate interactive 3D images in a PDF document. You can now archive Outlook folders as hyperlinked PDF files. Features Easily create Adobe PDF documents All in all Acrobat 7.0 has raised the bar, listened to its users and implemented some absolutely powerful features in this new version. Check it out by visiting the Adobe website and reading through all the materials available there. I'm sure you'll find this to be the best Acrobat release yet!
