CodeCharge Studio 2

Ok, here we go again. Repetition is the key to learning and CodeCharge Studio is great for that. Things are familiar after a couple of uses so that you're not going to have a large learning curve in using the software.

The Grid and Record Builder puts the Grid, Record and Search forms all on one page. Of course the first thing again is always the connection setup.

Choose the table and select the fields you want displayed in the grid.

Create or don't create a search/filter.

Use the advanced options if you'd like. I find the option to create a single search field and use OR condition is great. Instead of having a bunch of fields to fill out you get one field to search all the fields you specified above.

Again, choose sorting and navigation options.

Choose a link field for the grid. This will be the field that you click on to fill the record form for editing.

Here you choose the table and fields you want displayed for the record as well as choosing a primary key.

Decide what type of editing you want to allow.

Pick a theme.

Preview it to see if you like it.

By now it should be getting old school to create just about anything with the Builders in CodeCharge Studio but we'll press on with the  Search Builder.

This is the Standard License that gives you the right to own and run the software forever, similarly to buying a packaged software in a store.  Minor software upgrades/updates/patches will be offered free of charge for unlimited time.  However, major software upgrades may be offered in the future at an additional cost, for example an upgrade from version 2.0 to version 3.0 may be priced at $150 (exact pricing to be determined at the time of the release).   CodeCharge Studio can connect to virtually any ODBC compliant database using the appropriate drivers installed on the computer where CodeCharge Studio is present. Supported databases include:

  • Microsoft SQL
  • Oracle
  • MySQL
  • Microsoft Access
  • All other databases with an appropriate ODBC driver

  The generated code does not require ODBC connectivity and connects to the database using the method appropriate for the particular environment, for example ADO for ASP, JDBC for Java, PHPLib for PHP, or DBI for PERL.
