Stream Anywhere

Stream Anywhere is an awesome tool for converting your Windows based media file to streaming media for the internet. If you're not sure what streaming media is let me explain a little before we go on. Normally when you surf the web and come across movies and sounds, those files are downloaded completely to your computer before you can see or hear them. With streaming media, the movie and sound files start to play almost immediately even though they have not been totally downloaded. They play as they download. Perhaps you can see the extreme value in this. This type of media allows you to be able to use much larger files than you would normally. For instance, most people would not place a 200k sound file on a web site without warning their visitors that the download will take a little bit. With streaming media you can place that 200k file as a background sound and for the most part no one will notice how large the file is.

This is where Stream Anywhere comes in. Stream Anywhere allows you to create streaming media from your .avi, .aif, .mov, .mp3, MPEG-1, .wav, .wma, and .qt files. But that's not all Stream Anywhere can do. Stream Anywhere also is capable of capturing video from cameras and VCRs (provided you have the appropriate capture card or equipment).

Above you see the window with the Stream Anywhere logo. That is where you video loads for you to view. You can already see that I have a sound file loaded by looking at the bottom of the screenshot.

    

Stream Anywhere not only makes it easy to create streaming media files but also creates everything you need to get your files onto your web site using the Publish Streaming Media option under the file menu.

You can fade your audio and video in and/or out.

You can view the interface in the full format as above or an abbreviated format as below.

You can choose whether to export your files as Windows Streaming Media or RealMedia.

There is also a place to set how your files are viewed. You can set your target audience to be sure that your media streams correctly.
