Tree Professional 4.3
Most of us know how hard it is to get realistic looking trees into our 2D and 3D images. But, getting them into our images is not the start of the hard part. The very hardest part is to find software that will create realistic looking trees easily with a small polygon count so we are not trying to model with huge files. This is where Tree Professional 4.3 comes in. You don't have to be an expert on trees to get realistic models in Tree Professional 4.3 and you don't have to be a 3D wizard either. You don't have to create each separate piece and put it where it belongs or worse yet, figure out where it belongs. With Tree Professional 4.3 you simply open the software and start modeling.
You have several choices for rendering while you work, although it appears equally as fast in all the different shadings to me.
There are three options for types of trees - broadleaves, conifers, and palms. As well, there are options for the background colors. Many options for saving your model to get just what you need is also available.
BMP and TGA save format allows you to save images up to 30,000 by 30,000 pixels. When saving to TGA you can also anti-alias and save with an alpha channel. Also, when saving to TGA you can save a single polygon DXF panel to assure a perfect fit allowing you to work with the models with one polygon instead of full 3D.
Options for shaping and molding each part of a tree are extensive. I don't think there is a tree that you can imagine that you can't create using Tree Professional 4.3.
The makers of Tree Professional 4.3 left nothing to chance. As you can see above, you can create just the colors you want and get those colors distributed through your model exactly the way you want it to be easily.
Pick your leaf type from many options. All the options panels are extremely easy to use.
You can curve the boughs, branches, and twigs to get just the right effect.
You can adjust the trunk width and height, as well as the crown. Below are some conifers with different settings for curving, needle and trunk coloring, trunk height and needle size.
You can view your model in just about any angle quickly and easily and if you see a limb you don't like, take the saw tool and cut it off.
Also, your options for saving your model are not just a matter of letting the software do what it wants, you have options for how your model is saved.
When saving your model as a DXF there are many options for saving and also a counter to count the number of polygons and give you the approximate file size of your saved model. You can keep making adjustments until you get it to where you want. Most of us know the problems with polygons counts and needles on conifer trees. With Tree Professional 4.3 you can adjust that count before saving to keep your files manageable.
All in all Tree Professional 4.3 is the tool to have to add realistic looking trees to your 3D scenes. You can also save just a part of your model for DXF export.
Your still not all the way on your own if you don't want to be. Included on the Tree Professional CD are a tree library and a leaf library. You also have the option of picking a leaf off of a tree you like, scanning it in and putting it on your tree. Or, put anything on your tree for leaves - money, ornaments, fruit, or whatever you can think of.

You can use Tree Professional 4.3 for great looking realistic trees simply. Create your tree in Tree Professional 4.3, set the background to close to the color of the image you want to add your tree to (above the background for the fir trees was set to a dark green), use the capture tool to capture the tree in Tree Professional 4.3, copy the screen capture and paste it to your image as a transparent selection. It takes only minutes to create a tree and get it into your image.
