Publisher 2000
Publisher 2000 is a desktop publishing tool that will help you to be more productive and create professional looking documents whether for print or the web. As with other components of the Office 2000 Premium suite, Publisher 2000 contains many templates for many, many, different types of publications. Each publication type has it's own set of style templates where you can adjust the properties for colors, text, etc., to get just the look you want, or you can use your own images. The wizards should be familiar by now as they are an integral part of the Office suite components making creating your publications quick and easy as well as professional. You start out with a catalog and then the wizard takes you through all the steps to get your base document started.
Once you've chosen a basic style the wizard lets you decide which colors you would like to apply to your document.
Next comes the layout part of the wizard where you have many options for types of layout including larger picture, no picture, sidebar heading and more.
You then have the option of setting up your personal and business contact information which will be saved for later use. When you use any of the templates again this information will be automatically included so you don't have to type it in each time you start Publisher 2000 or a new document.
Once you have finished the contact information section Publisher 2000 opens the document with all your settings and you are ready to add whatever information, text, pictures, etc., in the document that you like. The quick publication wizard on the left of the screen can be left open for easy access to the wizard properties or you can close it to give you more room to work.
After you have created a publication you can even have Publisher 2000 create a web site from your publication.
You can use Publisher 2000 to create mail merged documents which makes it extremely easy to publish sales advertisements, newsletters, and more.
