Onion Skin Onion Skin was designed with you and the client in mind. We get our clients, we create graphics for them, and we need to show them. But, what happens when the client doesn't have a program capable of reading our .psd files? We have to convert them to something they can see thus doubling our work. Not only that in graphic intensive jobs we have to send them many images. It would be so much easier if we could just send them one file. That's where Onion Skin comes in. Onion Skin allows you to view layered .psd files. You can put all your graphics each on a separate layer into one .psd file. Give your client the Onion Skin program and the client can view all the images you have included in one .psd file by simply turning the layers on and off.
The two examples on this page don't touch the possibilities of Onion Skin. Let's say for instance you are an architect. You have a building, sidewalks, plants, trees, parking lots, lighting, etc. Then let's say that there are different applications you can apply for the sidewalks, plants, trees, parking lots, lighting, etc. With Onion Skin, with each of the options on different transparent layers, you could send one file with all the choices, and the client could then look at all the options by simply turning layers off and on. They would then be able to visually make their choices and by letting you know which layers by name they liked and you could create exactly what they wanted.
Onion Skin is a valuable tool for anyone in the graphics art industry that needs to save time and space and get their files to clients who can see them. I tested .psd files from PhotoShop and Paint Shop Pro 5, and both saved the layer information necessary for clients to see and refer to layer names. In each application you can name the layers whatever you want. Check out Onion Skin and see the possibilities for yourself. Onion Skin would make a great PR tool. Giving Onion Skin to your clients saves them and you time an money. Onion SkinEstimated Street Price Windows System Requirements |
