CyberMotion XL 2.02 All I can say is WOW! Well, that's not all, but it gets the point across. CyberMotion XL 2.02 is a 3D drawing and animation program that is terrific. I started this review with CyberMotion XL 2.02, and while I was working on that the new version 3.0 became available. CyberMotion XL 2.02 is wonderful, but 3.0 is even better. Below you will see screen shots of the two interfaces, one for version 2.02 and one for version 3.0. I noticed the difference in the appearance of the interfaces right away. After doing some experimenting in the 3.0 version, it seems as if things work easier in 3.0 than in 2.02, if that is possible. If you have never used 3D rendering software, there is a learning curve. However, included with the software are some terrific, detailed tutorials that will get you going right away. I am fairly new to 3D and the tutorials in CyberMotion XL made it pretty easy for me to do some really fun things while learning more about 3D rendering.
Above is the version 2.02 interface and below is the 3.0 interface. Things are much easier and more convenient to get to in the new interface.
3D rendering is not the only thing you can do with CyberMotion XL. You can also animate them. Animating is quick and easy. The two images below were extremely easy to create and I didn't take much time with them. If you really want to see some truly amazing things you can do with this software, you need to visit the gallery at CyberMotion. Included in the gallery are stills and .avi movies created with CyberMotion.
If you need textures and objects, you can pick them up at the CyberMotion site too. You can also create your own textures. I created the texture for the plinths and columns in Photoshop in a matter of seconds. CyberMotion saves your project as a .cmo, .dxf, or .raw file. When you are ready, you can render the final image to a .tga, .bmp, or .tif image. While working on your image, you can preview it either as a scanline render or a raytrace render. Scanline is the quickest and you can get a good idea of what is happening with your 3D world without having to spend a lot of time waiting for the complete render. You can choose render image sizes ranging from 320x200 pixels up to 1600x1200 pixels. In the new version, the background option has changed and there are more options added for rendering backgrounds for your images. CyberMotion XL is a great 3D rendering and animation tool and you can't beat the price of $69.00 US. Head on over to CyberMotion to get a free trial and see just how fun and easy 3D can be.
